This is the story I have been writing for the past few months. It is inspired by characters designed by artist Lara Yokoshima. I have pictures of the characters in another blog post so everyone can see what they look like. Please note that this is a yaoi story. I will be adding future chapters to this blog, so stay tuned :)
Prologue:
In a distant future, the unstable and restless Earth
unleashed a great fury in a series of powerful earthquakes which caused the
west coast to separate from the rest of the US. Most humans in the area fled
knowing the quakes were coming, but some remained, putting faith in the greatly
advanced technology and structural engineering of the future to keep them safe.
Most of the strongest structures remained intact. The few humans who remained
on this newly formed island quickly rebuilt and started their own
civilization in which they created a new sentient humanoid race to be their
devoted servants, which they called the Quimaera. Being a mix of human and
animal genes, the Quimaera are divided into three species: the Anubiset, strong
and loyal, were developed from canine DNA to be forever the keepers of their
human masters; the Bastit, created from feline DNA to be man's sex toys and
maids; and the Skemit, a hybrid new species that evolved on its own.
Civilization quickly took off in the time it took to create
and perfect the Quimaera. The Anubiset were all created male, but the Bastit
were created male and female to quell different human needs. They were created
in laboratories in a remote location in what used to be central Washington. The
breeders had several caretakers to watch over them through their childhood
years and educate them to make sure they would grow up to serve their purposes
well. When the Bastits were old enough, they were transported to different
Bastit houses along what used to be the west coast of the US where they would
live and give their services to those who were rich enough to pay for them.
However, things eventually took a terrible turn. The Bastits were created as
sex slaves and to make money for their breeders, but not all of them liked
their jobs. The breeders weren't always kind and neither were the humans they
were rented or sold to. Fed up with the abuse they were receiving from humans,
a group of older Bastits at the house in the north got together and attacked
the breeders with some knives they found after breaking into the kitchen. A few
of the breeders were even killed. The rebels then broke into the breeders'
records to find the locations of the other houses. They then fled, taking
refuge in the mountains that had formed to the west of the island where they
began breeding on their own, creating a new wild species of cat-human hybrid,
called the Skemit. They became thieves, pillaging wherever they could to find
food and weapons. Being part cat, Bastits had all the strength, senses,
and agility of a cat, they just didn't know it because they were supposed to be
submissive creatures. But after the group of Bastits who rebelled fled, they
began becoming more and more aware of their full abilities, more and more wild,
and more and more angry at humans. Word of the attack spread to all
the Bastit houses. After the group of Bastits went wild, they were deemed
a threat to mankind and were sentenced to extermination at the hand, or sword,
of the ever loyal Anubiset. The story begins just after the attack with a young
Bastit named Kejehara who witnessed it wondering what had happened and fearing
that this group would return and attack again. Little did he know, the group
was growing much larger, and his nightmares would one day come true.
Ch 1: The
Bastits
It was nighttime in the north Pacific Coast
Island where Kejehara laid on his bed in his room trying to sleep. It had only
been two days since the group of older Bastits attacked during which, he had
witnessed the stabbing of one of the breeders right in front of him. Although
he wasn't very fond of the breeders for what they made him do, the stabbing was
certainly not something he wanted to see nor was it something he could easily
forget. The vision often plagued his dreams and he had nightmares that this
group of Bastits would come back to the house and attack again...for all he
knew, they might even attack him and the other Bastits.
* * *
"Keji?" Kejehara heard a distant voice calling.
"Kejehara wake up!" the voice pleaded. "Kejehara!!!"
Kejehara awoke with a start, trembling and in a cold sweat
to see his best friend and roommate, Evania standing over him, tail twitching
nervously.
"You were having one of your nightmares again,"
Evania said softly.
Kejehara sighed and sat up, fighting tears. "Evi, they
seem to be getting worse," he said.
"Keji, those other Bastits are gone," Evania
assured him. "The breeders had the Anubiset try to track them, but they
lost the scent. They're gone Keji, they're not coming back."
Kejehara looked up at Evania. "How can you be
sure?" he asked, his voice shaking.
Evania paused for a moment. The truth was that he wasn't
sure either; but he could never tell Kejehara that. "Well..." he
said, searching for the right words, "We don't even know why they did what
they did, and they were Bastits too...so why would they hurt us?"
Kejehara sighed. He wanted to believe his friend's words,
but something inside him said otherwise.
"Keji, I..." Evania began again, but he was
interrupted by a loud knock at the door.
"Open up!" demanded a gruff voice. Evania and
Kejehara both recognized the voice, it was the breeder in charge of their
house.
Evania slowly went to the door and opened it. The man pushed
the door and Evania aside and came in with rope in his hand. He chuckled and
began, "Time to test the usefulness of what I worked so hard to create and
train." He sneered at Kejehara who backed up against the wall next to his
bed.
"Wait a minute!" Evania spoke up. "He's
uhhh....been through a lot with witnessing the attack and stuff....why don't
you take me instead."
The man looked between Kejehara and Evania. "Alright
then. Kejehara, out!" He barked.
"Evi, I..." Kejehara began.
"I'll be alright Keji" Evania said.
"There now you see? He'll be alright. Now OUT!"
the breeder barked again.
Kejehara slowly walked toward the door and looked back at
his friend before the breeder slammed the door in his face. He heard the man
tell Evania to get on his bed where he knew he would be tied up so the breeder
could put Evania's sexual training to the test and see if he was ready to go on
the Quimaera market. Kejehara couldn't bear to stay next to the door. He wished
there was something he could do to help Evania, and it tore him up that there
was nothing he could do. As a Bastit he was completely under the control of the
breeders he lived with. If he interfered, he would be severely punished. They
were but sex slaves and handmaids that could be bought or rented and returned.
They were high class creatures though, their rental and purchase prices were
very high. Their high price came from the amount of work that went into their
creation and how good they were at their jobs. They were highly trained in
sexual arts so that they would be able to pleasure their masters in any way
their masters wanted. Bastits were created so that they would mature
quickly; as young as 10 years old at which point their aging slows. They also
retain their youth for a long period of time. Bastits had lean sexy builds,
fair skin, light colored hair, and stood between 5'5" and 5'8". They
had cat ears and tails, but these only added to their beauty. Kejehara and
Evania were among the finest and highest priced of their kind. At this
point in their lives, they were both about 11 years old and about to go on the
market. They had also become very close friends.
* * *
Hours passed and Kejehara had still not seen the head
breeder. He sat alone in the large living room of the Bastit house. The rest of
the younger Bastits were asleep. He hoped Evania was ok. Finally, the head
breeder came into the living room.
"You can go back up to your room now," he said,
"The test is over, your friend is fine. You're tomorrow, same time. I
expect you in your room and ready."
"Yes sir," Kejehara stammered before running
upstairs to check on Evania. He arrived in the room to find Evania lying on his
bed breathing hard. "Evi? Are you alright, what did he do to
you?"
"I'm....I'm alright," Evania gasped. "He
did.....everything.....everything we've been taught, all the.....all the
positions, everything."
"Do you need anything at all?" Kejehara asked.
"I could really use....some water," Evania
panted.
"Be right back," said Kejehara. He went to get the
water and returned to find Evania's breathing had slowed, but he was still very
fatigued. He slowly drank all the water.
"We'd better get some sleep Keji, we don't want to miss
the morning meal." Evania said. It was past 3am.
"He said my test is tomorrow, same time," Kejehara
told Evania.
"Well then all the more reason for you to get some
sleep," Evania said with a slight chuckle.
Kejehara smiled a little and turned off the light.
"Good night Evi."
"Good night Keji."
Chapter 2:
The Anubiset
The next week at the ASA base, the oldest Anubiset, who were
about 20 years old and ASA Lieutenants, were running an intense day of training
for the younger generations below them. The youngest generations were handled
by humans. The second oldest generation had already graduated from their basic
training and become ASA Cadets. They were on their way to becoming Lieutenants
as well, being given their own squadrons, and being transferred to other bases
around the island where they would continue training their squadrons. The
ASA base was extensive; there were barracks, obstacle courses, and large
hangars for their specially designed helicopters they used for
missions. The primary color of the base was grey as most everything was
made of metal or concrete. The perimeter of the base was lined with a 10 foot
tall laser beam fence.
The Anubiset were very well built and very strong, having
all the strength, agility, and senses of the dog they were bred with. They
stood up to 7 feet tall and they all had dark skin. Like the Bastits, they too
had the ears and tails of the animals they were bred with, but unlike the
Bastits, they were well aware of their full abilities. Anubiset aged much
faster than Bastits when young and they reached maturity around 16 years old at
which point they are already capable soldiers and their aging slows.
At the base, the Anubiset were trained extensively in military
tactics and hand to hand combat which included sword fighting. They began
training at a very young age, as young as 5 years old. Their training was very
rigorous and exhausting, but it was what the Anubiset were bred for. In the
rare case that a young Anubiset didn’t pass his basic training, he would be
deemed worthless by the humans and killed.
At the end of the day, Lieutenant Seth Ryder approached
Cadet Liam Cynard. "Cadet Cynard?" He called.
"Yes sir!" Liam responded.
"You've been doing some great work helping us train the
younger generations," Lt. Ryder said, "and
you certainly serve your missions well; I'd say you've got the makings of a
great Lieutenant."
"Thank you sir!" Liam said happily.
"Listen, I've been meaning to talk to you...we could
use someone like you at the south base. We’ve gotten word of some Skemit
activity around there and with the way you work, we could use a capable
Lieutenant like yourself to help run things there." continued Lt. Ryder.
“Skemit activity down there already sir?” Liam asked,
surprised.
“That’s right. I don’t know how they got there so fast but,
we got a call just yesterday,” Lt. Ryder responded. “So what do you say cadet,
you up for it?”
Liam hesitated a moment.
"What's the matter cadet, I thought you'd be
happy?" Lt. Ryder asked, noticing Liam's reaction.
"Well..." Liam began, "with all due respect
sir, I'd really like to stay here. I like it here."
"Hm. Well I must say that wasn't the answer I was
hoping for. But I can't say I blame you, I like it here too. I'm sure gonna
miss it." said Lt. Ryder.
"You're leaving sir?" Liam asked.
"Yes I am cadet. I'm going to the south. Our masters
promoted me to Captain." Lt. Ryder responded. Captain was the highest rank an Anubiset could
attain.
"Oh! Well congratulations sir." Liam said.
"Thank you cadet. But of course, my promotion won't
take effect until the third generation completes basic training and becomes
cadets, and those selected from your generation become Lieutenants." said
Lt. Ryder. "Well, I'd better go tell our masters you want to stay
here," he continued as he began to walk away.
"Lieutenant Ryder sir?" Liam called after him.
"Yes?" Lt. Ryder responded.
"I've actually been meaning to talk to you too. If I
may make a request for my future pack, I'd like to have Private Kenward on
it." said Liam.
"Private Kenward eh? Certainly not a bad choice...top
of his generation pretty consistently, mastered the wakizashi sword by 10 years old..." Lt.
Ryder went on.
"Yes sir, he sure is a great soldier," Liam said
quickly, trying not to sound like he was hiding something, which he was.
"Yeah.....that he is, I'll see what I can do." Lt.
Ryder said looking at Liam a little questioningly before turning to walk
away.
"Whoo, that was close," Liam thought to himself as
he walked away. Liam secretly had feelings for Private Kenward, whose first
name was Brayden, and he was sure Brayden felt the same way as he always lit up
when they were together and they had had more than a few encounters where they
almost kissed. He was determined to kiss Brayden soon and prove his feelings.
He wanted Brayden in his squadron because he wanted to be sure they would be
able to be together and so he could watch out for him. Liam was usually a very
intelligent Anubiset soldier, he moved quickly through his basic training and
was on his way to becoming a Lieutenant at only 18 years old. But these
feelings of wanting to be with Brayden were new to him and he didn’t quite know
how to handle them. Being young and in love, he didn't fully consider the
problems that would arise from being a Lieutenant and getting into a
relationship with someone in his own squadron.
Chapter 3: An
Unexpected Encounter
Kejehara and Evania were now both on the Quimaera
market. Although there had not been calls for them yet, their breeders kept
them busy with photo shoots for the websites they set up and magazines they
printed to advertise the Bastits and entice buyers. Most sexual service Bastits
looked forward to and enjoyed their jobs, but Kejehara and Evania were rare
exceptions. They weren’t particularly looking forward to being someone’s
property.
* * *
"I wonder when we'll get our first jobs,"
Evania said to Kejehara.
Kejehara was looking at a fashion magazine on his bed.
Bastits weren’t taught to read but he enjoyed looking at the pictures. When he
heard those words, he lowered his magazine, looked straight at Evania and said,
"Evi...you're not seriously looking forward to this are you?"
"Of course not," Evania replied. "But
sooner or later we’ll have to do our jobs. I just hope…we don’t get
separated."
“Me too,” Kejehara replied. He knew that one of them
could be bought at any time and they may never see each other again. They were
each other’s only true friends and dreaded the thought of being separated.
Kejehara continued reading his magazine for a few moments until there was a
knock at the door. He glanced up at Evania for a moment before going to answer
it. Little to his surprise, it was one of the breeders.
"Heyyy, how are my two best Bastits this fine
evening huh?" he said coolly with a New York accent as he strolled into
the room.
"Uhh, fine sir." Evania said.
"We got a call today from the Anubiset
base," he continued. "Someone's requesting one of our finest Bastits
which uhhh heh-heh...happens to be you two," as he pointed to Kejehara and
Evania. "Decide which one of you wants to go and I want that one
downstairs ready to go in 10 minutes." He turned and walked out closing
the door behind him.
"Hm. Well I guess right now is when we get our
first jobs," Kejehara said with sarcastic enthusiasm. He sighed. "I
guess...since you took my test on the night I was supposed to be tested, I'll
take this job for you."
"Oh Keji, would you do that?" Evania asked
gratefully as he sat up on his bed?
"Yeah, yeah I got this one," Kejehara said
as he got up to get ready.
"Thanks, I owe you one." Evania said.
"You can fulfill that when the next call
comes," Kejehara said with a giggle.
He proceeded to put on a short silver form-fitting
dress with short shiny leather boots to show off his long legs. He finished by
curling his long light blue hair a little to make it nice and wavy. "How
do I look?" he asked, turning to Evania and striking a pose. He wasn’t looking
forward to his job as a Bastit, but he did enjoy getting dressed up.
"Wow!" Evania exclaimed. He had never seen
Kejehara get this dressed up.
"What? Dressing for impressing was something we
were taught wasn't it?" Kejehara said, smiling.
“Well yeah but….I mean you look….amazing!” Evania
exclaimed again.
"I just hope whoever I have to go satisfy thinks
I look as amazing as you say I do." Kejehara said.
"I'm sure he will," Evania said as he got up
from his bed. He gave his friend a hug and said, "I'll see you when you
get back, hopefully I won't be out."
"Yeah. Bye Evi," Kejehara said as he left.
It was about a 40 minute drive to the ASA base which
seemed like an eternity to Kejehara. He got more and more nervous with each
passing minute. This was his first time going anywhere out of the Bastit house.
He knew he was going to the ASA base, but he had no idea where it was or if his
master would be nice or not. Finally, he arrived at the base. The man who
called was waiting outside. Some papers were signed, and the driver turned
Kejehara over to him.
"Mmm, looks good enough to eat," he said
with delight as he pulled Kejehara toward him and kissed his neck slowly.
The driver chuckled and said, "Yeah, you enjoy
that."
"Oh, I will," he replied. He dragged
Kejehara to his room where he slammed him hard in several different
positions. The intensity made Kejehara feel almost like he was being
torn in half.
"Master please! It hurts!" Kejehara said
feebly.
"Shut up!" he growled and slapped Kejehara
across the face. He couldn’t try to resist the man at all or his breeders would
punish him for not performing his job; although at this point he wasn’t sure
which would be worse. Finally the man had satisfied his needs and ordeal ended.
"Ooooh yeah, that was nice!" he said. "Alright, we're done here.
Get out." At this point Kejehara was in tears, his whole body hurt. He
couldn't move. "I said out!" he barked. He quickly put Kejehara's
clothes back on, picked him up, and tossed him out the door.
Now Kejehara was in pain from the beating, the sex,
and landing on the floor. He laid there for a few agonizing moments. Finally,
he dragged himself to his feet, straightened out his clothes and hair, and
leaning on the wall, walked down the hall. He didn't get very far before he
collapsed again. Fortunately, he was next to a bench. He laid down on it, still
sobbing. He felt terrible. He continued to lay on the bench, trying to will
himself into getting up again, when his ears pricked up. He heard footsteps.
Fearing it was the man he had just been with, he tried to quiet his sobs,
hoping that he wouldn't be noticed. The footsteps got progressively louder then
stopped. Kejehara looked down at the ground in front of the bench and slowly
outward until he saw a pair of boots. He slowly looked up and there before him,
tall and muscular, stood an Anubiset soldier. Kejehara screamed with terror,
fell off the bench and backed up against the wall while begging the Anubiset
not to hurt him.
“What are you doing here?” He demanded.
Kejehara looked up and replied feebly, “One of your
masters called me here for my services. He was…..really rough and afterwards he
just…..he tossed me out of his room and left me there!"
"You're a Bastit, aren't you," the Anubiset
spoke again. His voice was emotionless, even despite Kejehara’s distress.
"Yes." Kejehara replied sadly as he slowly
stood up from the floor and sat down on the bench. His sobbing had slowed a
little.
"You say one of my masters did this to you?"
the Anubiset asked.
“Yes.” Kejehara replied.
"Why am I not surprised. They’re not the best to
us either." the Anubiset said. “See this collar?” He asked pointing to the
collar on his neck. “It’s a radio collar, it’s how we communicate with each
other…but it’s also a shock collar. If any of us does anything we’re not
supposed to, the humans shock us.” He paused a moment before continuing, “We’re
bigger and stronger than them but they still have complete control over us.” He was
beginning to show some emotion now.
“I think I’d rather take the shock than be someone’s
sex toy.” Kejehara said. “I should probably be going, I’m sure my ride is
waiting,” he continued. He slowly got up and winced in pain.
"Will you….be alright getting out?" the
Anubiset asked, not quite sure what to do.
"Yeah yeah, I'll be alright," Kejehara said
quickly, stepping away from the Anubiset. "I'm going to have to get used
to this." He walked a few more steps before realizing something. The
Anubiset he just encountered may have been cold at first, but he eventually
opened up a little, and he was the first person (besides another Bastit) to
show him any form of kindness. He stopped, turned back to the Anubiset, who was
still by the bench, and said something he never would have said to anyone else,
“By the way….I’m Kejehara.”
"Kejehara; that's a nice name," he
responded. He hesitated a moment before saying, “I’m Private Kenward. Brayden
Kenward.”
Kejehara smiled a little and said, “It’s…nice to meet
you, Brayden.”
He slowly began walking away when Brayden called after
him, “Will you be around here again, Kejehara?”
"Well that depends, Brayden," Kejehara said,
walking back toward him. "You could call for me."
"Call for you?" Brayden asked.
"Yeah, you can call and request me by name and
they'll bring me out here and I'll provide you with my....services,"
Kejehara said, flipping his hair, twitching his tail, stroking his thigh, and
raising an eyebrow; making himself look as sexy as he could.
"Umm, I don’t know if I’d be allowed to call for
your services, the humans keep us under close control," Brayden replied.
"Well I hope you can. Perhaps I'll see you soon,
Brayden," he said with a twinkle in his eye as he turned to leave.
Kejehara managed to find where he was dropped off. He
was supposed to be escorted by the client he served, but since he was on an
Anubiset base, the driver didn't think much of the fact that he was alone. All
the way back to the house, Kejehara wondered what had just happened. He
felt....happy, he actually wanted to provide his services to Brayden. But why? He
certainly seemed nice, he was pretty cute too. Kejehara arrived back at the
house late and to his surprise, Evania hadn't waited up. He was too tired to
wonder why and just went to bed. He and Evania could talk in the morning.
Back at the ASA base, Brayden was thinking about what had
just happened as well. He was never usually very open to anyone, especially to
a stranger. He was a soldier, and that was all he knew; he never let anything
distract him. But Kejehara somehow got his attention. Brayden decided he would
call for him to come to the base.
Chapter 4: Different
Intentions
The next day Kejehara was a little cranky when he woke up. His
head still hurt a little from being hit and landing on the floor.
"Morning Keji," Evania said as he woke up. "Hey,
sorry I didn't wait up for you last night, I got a job too and when I got back
I was pretty tired," Evania said.
"Oh really you got one too? How did that go?" Kejehara
asked with faked enthusiasm.
"Not too bad actually, some casino owner just wanted to
have some fun in the shower with someone and who better than one of us? And let
me tell you, he was pretty wild in the shower," Evania said with a slight
giggle. “So how did your first job go?”
“It was terrible Evi. The man I was with...." he trailed
off, trying not to cry again at the memories.
"What happened?" Evania asked with concern as he got
off his bed and went to comfort Kejehara as he told him about what happened the
previous night. "Keji, I'm so sorry." He said when Kejehara finished
and hugged him closely.
"Well, it wasn't all bad," Kejehara continued.
"I….sort of met someone."
"Oh? Do tell," Evania said, intrigued.
He proceeded to tell Evania all that happened when he met
Brayden and afterwards Evania gasped and exclaimed, "He told you his
name?!"
"Yup! Well…I told him mine first, but then he asked if I
would be on the base again, I told him he could call for me. He also likes my
name!" Kejehara exclaimed. He was all aglow now.
"Oh wow! Keji that's amazing!" Evania said. "So
is he going to call for you? What was his name?" he asked excitedly.
"His name is Brayden, he’s an Anubiset, and I don't know,
he said he might.” Kejehara said.
"An Anubiset?” Evania asked with surprise.
“Yup! I really hope he calls for me. He was pretty hot!"
Kejehara responded.
“I hope he calls for you too!" Evania said. "But we
should get our afternoon meal now, I'm hungry."
"Me too," Kejehara answered. They left together still
giggling and talking excitedly about Kejehara meeting Brayden.
* * *
There weren't any calls that day for Kejehara or Evania, until
the evening when a breeder knocked on their door.
"Well well well, Kejehara! You must have done some good
work over at ASA last night, word seems to be out about you. We got another
call tonight….an Anubiset wants you this time" the breeder said. He was
the same one as the night before.
Kejehara gasped and jumped off his bed, "Is it
Brayden?" he asked excitedly.
"Yeah....yeah, it is," the breeder responded, a little
bewildered at Kejehara's reaction.
"Oh....right, just uhhh...wondering…sir" Kejehara
said, trying to sound calmer, realizing he had overdone it a little.
"Uh-huh," said the breeder slowly. "See you
downstairs in 10." And he left.
Kejehara waited a moment before squealing with joy. Evania
joined him and they jumped together hand in hand in the middle of their room
for a while. Kejehara was overjoyed that Brayden had called for him.
"Uh-oh," Kejehara said, realizing a small problem.
"What am I going to wear? I want it to be something really cute and sexy,
but not real hard for him to get off."
"I know!" Evania said as he went to the closet. He
pulled out a small black top and a short black skirt. “These will look good
with your black boots.” Kejehara put on the outfit and fixed his hair.
"Perfect!" Evania declared. "Brayden's not going
to be able to resist you!"
"That's the idea!" said Kejehara. "Well I don't
want to keep him waiting. I'll see you....perhaps in the morning?"
"Have fun Keji," said Evania as Kejehara left.
He arrived at the ASA base and Brayden was outside waiting.
"Hey there Brayden, ready for a good time?" Kejehara
asked as he got out of the vehicle.
"Uhh, sure," Brayden responded. After they had gone
into the base, he continued, "Look I uhh….I actually didn't call you here
for your services."
Kejehara was in utter shock. He could barely comprehend the
words. "You....didn't?"
"No. I actually just wanted to talk to you. I’ve never seen
a Bastit before and...I don’t usually get distracted but, there was something
about you last night that got me curious," Brayden explained.
"Curious about…me?" Kejehara said,
confused.
“Yeah. Come on, this way,” Brayden said. He led Kejehara down a
long hallway which took them to the mess hall, the large room where the
Anubiset had meals. At this time, it was empty as the other Anubiset were
training late or working out in the large gym the base had. Brayden and
Kejehara took a seat at a table next to the doors.
“So something about me made you curious?” Kejehara began when
they were seated.
“Yeah, I….wanted to learn about you,” Brayden answered.
"There's not a lot to learn. As you know, I’m a Bastit;
we're sex slaves. We're trained in sexual arts to pleasure our masters in any
way they want. We don't get a say in anything, we have to be completely
submissive to our masters. Oh and another thing, we never know anyone's names.
Everyone is Master to us." Kejehara paused a moment before continuing,
"I’m really glad I got to know your name."
"Wow," Brayden mused. "So is s..." just
then, the door opened and another Aubiset walked in. Brayden’s eyes widened in
surprise. The other Anubiset stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Brayden
with Kejehara.
“Brayden? Is that a Bastit you’re with?” the other Anubiset
asked, a bit sternly. He was as tall as Brayden and had the same build, but his
skin was lighter and his hair was white.
“Yeah, I met him last night when he was here,” Brayden answered
calmly.
“Uh-huh. Does Liam know you’re with a Bastit?” the other
Anubiset asked.
"Liam?" Kejehara asked.
"Li...what? No!" Brayden stammered. "It's not
like that."
"Then what is it?" the other Anubiset asked again.
"I’m talking with him. What, I can’t talk with a
Bastit?" Brayden said, becoming annoyed.
"Uhh, maybe I should go," Kejehara said.
"No!" Brayden quickly shouted, making Kejehara flinch.
"I mean, no" he said again in a normal voice. "Just...hang on a
minute." Turning to Keane, he said, "Look Keane, Kejehara’s just a
friend and we’re just talking. Can you keep this to yourself? I’ll talk with
Liam next time I see him.”
“And what if I do tell him?” Keane asked.
“Then I’ll have to tell Lieutenant Ryder about what happened
last week out in hangar 4,” Brayden answered flatly.
Keane’s eyes narrowed. “You wouldn’t,” he said, almost growling.
“Try me,” Brayden said in the same tone.
Keane glared at Brayden for a moment before saying, “Fine. I
won’t tell him.” With that, he left.
“Sorry about that, I wasn't expecting anyone to come through
here...that was my colleague, Keane."
"I see," Kejehara began. "So....can I ask who
Liam is?"
Brayden hesitated a moment. He didn’t particularly want to
disclose this information, but he knew he couldn’t really avoid the subject
anymore. "Oh he's…..someone I met during my basic training. We kinda have
a thing with each other. We’ll probably officially be together when I become a
cadet at the end of the year." Brayden answered.
"So that's why you didn't call me over for my
services?" Kejehara asked, trying not to sound too disappointed. He had
really been looking forward to showing Brayden everything he could do. He found himself wanting Brayden
more and more the longer he sat at the table with him.
"Yeah. Like I said, I had never even seen a Bastit before
and when I saw you there was something about you that got my attention…got me
curious." Brayden said.
"Wow. I didn't think someone would take such an interest in
who we are." Kejehara said, surprised. "So, what was that you were
going to ask me earlier?"
"Oh yeah! Is sex all you know?" Brayden asked.
"Well no," Kejehara laughed a little. He wished he
hadn’t reminded Brayden of what he was going to ask. "I mean, obviously we
learned to talk. Our breeders teach us how to talk, eat, get dressed, and act.
If we disobey we are punished, though we don’t have to wear shock collars.
“You’re lucky,” Brayden responded.
There was a short pause before Kejehara spoke again, “You know
Brayden…I had never seen an Anubiset either before I met you. And of course
I…don’t know much about you, or the Anubiset.” He was hoping to get Brayden to
open up some more.
Brayden smiled and gave a slight chuckle. He knew Kejehara was
going to say something like that. “There’s not all that much to learn about us
either really,” he began. “We’re soldiers, made to be the humans’ guards. Now
our primary mission is Skemit extermination. We are trained extensively for
combat…our training begins at sunrise and ends in the evening. All day it’s
obstacle course drills to keep up our agility, hand to hand combat training,
swordsmanship and other weapons training, runs around the perimeter of the
base, and…whatever else the Lieutenants want.”
“Wow!” Kejehara exclaimed. “That’s a lot to do in a day!”
Brayden shrugged. “Eh, it’s a living I guess.”
“But….how do you do all that every day? Doesn’t that wear you
out?” Kejehara asked.
“Well yeah, we’re tired by the end of the day, but we’re tough,
we can take the heat. This is what we were made to do.” Brayden replied.
“Oh by the way….what are Skemit?” Kejehara asked.
Brayden hesitated a moment before realizing the Skemit used to
be Bastits just like Kejehara. “You know that group of Bastits that attacked
your breeders?” He asked.
“Yes,” Kejehara said uneasily, wishing Brayden hadn’t brought up
that subject.
“They are now called Skemit. And now, like I said, our primary
mission is to get rid of them all before they can do much damage,” said
Brayden.
“I see,” Kejehara replied.
There was another brief pause before Brayden said, “I
should…probably go to bed; got another long day of training tomorrow. Kejehara,
I’m….normally not this open with other people but…I enjoyed our talk tonight.”
“I did too,” Kejehara replied. “I just wish I could have done more with him,” he thought to himself.
Brayden escorted Kejehara back out to the front of the base.
Just as Kejehara was about to get into the car, he turned back to Brayden and
said, “You’re going to make Liam very happy. He’s lucky to have you in his
life.” Those were the words he left Brayden with.
When he arrived back at the Bastit house, Evania was surprised
to see him back that night. He was even more surprised to learn that Brayden
didn’t call Kejehara for his services, and he comforted him when Kejehara told
him why. Kejehara was very sad, and understandably so. The one person besides
another Bastit to show him any kindness and care for him already had someone in
his life.
Chapter 5:
Ryukiba
The end of the year came and Brayden graduated from his
basic training and Liam became a Lieutenant. Brayden received his squadron
assignment and as he expected, he was in Liam’s squadron. He was quite pleased
at this and went looking for Liam. He found him working out in the weight room.
“Hey Lieutenant,” he said a bit playfully.
“Hey cadet,” Liam responded in the same tone.
“I see I’ll be in your squadron,” said Brayden.
Liam chuckled. “Well isn’t that a coincidence.”
“It is, isn’t it,” Brayden said. He knew Liam had something
to do with the fact that he was in his squadron.
“Listen Brayden, I have something to show you,” Liam said as
he got up and started for the door. “Come on.”
They walked together to the barracks where Liam brought
Brayden to his new room. He now had a private suite, which he was starting to
move in to. It wasn’t too large of a room, but it was large enough for 2
Anubiset, which was eventually Liam’s plan.
“Wow,” Brayden mused. “This is all yours now?”
“Yup,” Liam responded happily. “But there’s something else…”
He went to a box and rummaged through it for a moment before walking back to
Brayden, holding a sheathed sword. “This is Ryukiba,” he said holding it out to
Brayden.
“Whoa! That’s a gorgeous blade!” he exclaimed.
“Brayden I….I want you to have it,” Liam said looking
straight at Brayden.
Brayden looked up and their eyes met. “Really?” He asked,
surprised.
“Yes. This will be a symbol of the bond we share,” Liam said
softly as he slowly moved closer to Brayden until…their lips touched. They
began to kiss passionately. “I love you Brayden,” Liam whispered.
“I….I love you too Liam,” Brayden whispered back, gazing
into Liam’s eyes.
They resumed kissing; and slowly undressing each other. Liam
slowly kissed Brayden’s neck and worked his way down as Brayden moaned with
pleasure. He jumped into Liam’s arms and they fell onto the bed and shared a
passionate night together that night. The next morning when they woke up, Liam
said to Brayden, “I want us to share this room. We can be together every
night.”
“I’d like that,” Brayden said softly, with a smile. They
kissed again for a moment before getting up to start the day. Liam had to meet
the others in his squadron and a long day of training as a cadet lay ahead for
Brayden.
“I know. That’s why we’re waiting; honing our skills, growing our numbers; so that when the time comes to pull the mission, we’ll be as ready as we can be,” Ash replied.
“See you soon. Out.”
Chapter 6: The Skemit
It was nighttime in the mountains to the north of Pacific Coast Island.
It was a cold desolate place, the wind often howled through the canyons. This
was where the Skemit lived. Being outcast rebels, they had to take shelter
where they could find it. They made their camps in the caves of the mountains
out of the cold canyons. It was well known to the Anubiset that the Skemit lived in the mountains, they just didn’t know exactly
where.
It had now been 2 years since the first attack at the north Bastit
house, and the Skemit’s skills had increased greatly. They had gotten better at hiding themselves and
covering their scents so they couldn’t be tracked. They had also become well
aware of their full cat-like abilities. They self-trained, sparring with each
other, working out with whatever they could find; they would lift small
boulders over their heads, toss them back and forth, and sometimes have
contests for who could throw the largest boulder the farthest. Among this
group, there were former sexual Bastits, but there were also former Bastits who
had different jobs like janitorial/maid work, construction, and sanitation
engineers; the kinds of jobs humans didn’t want to do. These former Bastits did
not resemble the sexual Bastits. They were larger and more muscular; with
darker skin and hair. Their builds resembled the Anubiset a bit, though they
weren’t quite as large. All
of them now had a somewhat ragged look to them, which came from living the way
they did.
The Skemit had also become very good at disguising themselves. They could hide their ears and tails very
well to make themselves look human and then venture into the city to pillage
for food, clothing, and weapons. Sometimes they would break into stores at
night, but their favorite thing to do was rob humans blind in broad daylight.
As they trained with each other, some had become adept in close combat with
daggers. Of course they were still hardly a match for an Anubiset, but if humans
gave them any trouble in the city, the Skemit didn’t hesitate to take care of
them.
The next morning, two of the clan leaders awoke and walked to the mouth
of the cave that housed their clan. It was still early and still cold in the
canyon.
“We must go into the city today,” one of them spoke. “We’re low on
food.”
“When do you want to go Ash?” The other asked.
“In a few hours, when the sun is up. Our usual place should be open by
then.” Ash replied.
“You want to go then? Why can’t
we just go now and break in? That would be easier,” the other said.
“True,” Ash replied, “but I like to take advantage of the humans right
in front of them. Just like they take advantage of our Bastit brothers and
sisters. One day Cliff; one day we’re going to get them out.”
“Are you sure the humans in the city aren’t getting suspicious? We’ve
been at our usual place a lot and recently I’ve noticed several of them looking
at us like they were on to us.” The other Skemit said.
“It doesn’t matter Cliff. You know what to do if they get in the way.”
Ash answered.
“And what if they call in the Anubiset?” Cliff asked again. “You know we
barely stand a chance against them.”
Ash paused a moment. “Yes,” he replied angrily. He hated admitting that
fact. “However,” he continued, “there’s power in numbers Cliff. If we outnumber
them 3 to 1 I’d say we
have a good chance.”
“You know the Anubiset will most likely come when we pull our big
mission,” Cliff said.
“I know. That’s why we’re waiting; honing our skills, growing our numbers; so that when the time comes to pull the mission, we’ll be as ready as we can be,” Ash replied.
“I hope our allies in the south are
faring well. We can’t afford to lose anyone,” Cliff said.
“I’m sure they are. If we’re lucky,
they’ve led a revolt at a Bastit house down there like we did here and gathered
even more allies. We’ll try calling them tonight.” Ash said. The clans were
able to communicate with each other via solar powered high frequency radios
on rotating frequencies to avoid tracing. “That said,” he continued, “You have
a point. We can’t risk our cover in the city being blown. We’ll go now.”
* * *
“Ash to Poinsettia, do you copy? Over,” Ash spoke into
the radio.
“Read you loud and clear Ash,” came the
response a moment later. Poinsettia was a female, former sexual Bastit. She was named for her vividly red hair which resembled the leafs of the poinsettia flower. She was still quite beautiful-looking like the flower, but she was no longer the meek Bastit sex pet she used to be. Now was a fierce, headstrong clan leader who doesn't take crap from anyone, especially humans.
“Excellent. You guys holding up alright
down there?” Ash asked.
“We are well, yes,” Poinsettia replied. “We have raided 2 small Bastit
houses down here and gathered many allies. We have some great fighters among
us.”
“That’s what I like to hear,” Ash said
with a chuckle. “Any trouble from the humans?”
“Some, but nothing we can’t handle.” Poinsettia replied.
“What about the Anubiset?”
“Sadly, we have lost a few to them, but
only a few.” Poinsettia
replied again.
“Be careful down there!” Ash said
urgently, “We can’t afford losses!”
“I know Ash, we will be careful,” Poinsettia said.
“Other than the Anubiset though, you
are all ok?” Ash asked.
“Yes, things are going smoothly. We
should be in good shape for the big mission.” Poinsettia replied.
“Excellent. I’ll see you soon Poinsettia,” Ash said.
“Excellent. I’ll see you soon Poinsettia,” Ash said.
Chapter 7: Separation
The past two years had been quite
eventful for Kejehara and Evania. They had had a number of jobs, even despite
their high prices. Evania had a client that had become a regular. This client
lived nearly two hours away from the Bastit house and was still willing to pay
to have Evania transported. Evania didn’t like going to this man’s house. It
was a long ride, and he wasn’t very nice. He always tied Evania up tightly
during sex, but not too tight; just enough to be uncomfortable.
Kejehara and Brayden had had a
few brief meetings over the past two years, but not very many as Brayden was busy a
lot. Kejehara fell more in love with him every time they met. He wished he
could have even just one night with him and it pained him so much that he
couldn’t. The past two years had brought Kejehara and Evania closer as they
supported each other through their problems.
Evania awoke still a bit sore
from the previous day. His usual client had him over the entire day, and of
course he only really wanted one thing.
“Are you ok Evi?” Kejehara asked as he woke up, noticing Evania rubbing his wrists where the rope had been. There were faint red marks.
“Are you ok Evi?” Kejehara asked as he woke up, noticing Evania rubbing his wrists where the rope had been. There were faint red marks.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine,” Evania
sighed. “He really likes bondage.”
“Maybe….maybe one day he’ll have his fill of you and move on to someone else?” Kejehara said, trying to cheer Evania up a bit.
“Maybe….maybe one day he’ll have his fill of you and move on to someone else?” Kejehara said, trying to cheer Evania up a bit.
“I can only hope,” Evania
replied. “How are things with Brayden?”
“They’re….good, we’re good
friends,” Kejehara said with a hint of sadness. “He talks about Liam sometimes
when I go to see him. It’s so hard for me to keep my feelings in. I’m such a
fool for loving him so much.”
“You’re not a fool Keji,” Evania
assured him.
“But I’m in love with someone who
only considers me a friend. That’s all we’ll ever be. He has Liam, and Liam’s
another Anubiset. They can be together more than we can. They’re much more
suited for each other than we are.” Kejehara’s voice was starting to break now.
Evania pulled Kejehara into a hug
and said “No no no, no tears over this. Try and think of all the things about
him that you like; the things that make you happy.”
“I love his eyes,” Kejehara
began, “and his hair, ohhh, I just want to run my hand s through his hair and
play with his ear!
Evania smiled as he watched his
friend glow.
Kejehara continued, “Then I want
to take off his shirt caress that rock-hard chest of his as he takes me in to
his arms and kisses me.” He sighed deeply as he fell onto his bed, arms
outstretched, imagining Brayden on top of him.
“Keji,” Evania said after a brief
pause. Kejehara didn’t respond. “Keji…?” Evania said again, shaking Kejehara’s
leg.
“Shush, you’re ruining my Brayden
fantasy!” Kejehara said.
Evania laughed. “Well alright,
you have your Brayden fantasy and I’ll go have my morning meal.” He began
changing out of his night clothes and just as he was finishing, there was a
knock at the door.
Kejehara sat up and groaned,
“Really? A job first thing in the morning?”
“Maybe it’s Brayden calling for
you,” Evania said with a smile.
“Ok now you’re just teasing me,”
Kejehara said as he went to open the door. When he opened it, he found the head
breeder of the house standing before him. He backed up to the middle of the
room where he and Evania stood up straight. It wasn’t often that the head
breeder came by.
“Good morning sir,” Evania said
with uncertainty. He wasn’t sure what brought the head breeder to their room at
that time in the morning.
“It’s a good morning indeed,” he
said with a slight sneer in his voice. “I have great news; Evania, your usual
client has decided to purchase you.”
The words resonated in both Kejehara’s
and Evania’s heads. A look of terror
came over Evania’s face as his eyes widened. “He…..what?” Evania stuttered.
“That’s the great news, sir?” Kejehara asked, his voice shaking.
“Oh yes!,” the breeder replied
happily. “Well, it’s great for me; means I’m getting richer! Now, Evania here’s
a suit case, I’m sure your friend here can help you pack up. I expect you
downstairs and ready in 20 minutes. It’s a long drive to your new master’s
house and I do not want to keep him waiting.” With that he turned and walked out, closing
the door behind him.
Kejehara and Evania remained
where they stood, both in utter shock. “He….purchased…me?” Evania said slowly,
trying to grasp what just happened. He began to cry. It was the first time in a
long time Kejehara had seen him cry. “Keji, I don’t want to live with him, he’s
terrible!” Evania sobbed.
Kejehara hugged him closely. He
was crying as well because for one thing he couldn’t stand the thought of
Evania living with that terrible man either, and for another, he knew that
Evania’s purchase meant they would never see each other again. “I...I’m sorry
Evi,” he stammered, words were hard for him to come by.
“Keji you’ve been….you’ve been my
only friend all my life. I can’t leave you!” Evania said, still crying.
“Same here Evi. Wait a minute, maybe I can come with you! I can help you with dressing and bathing and stuff, and your master won’t have to have to abuse just you all the time!” Kejehara said, wiping tears from his face.
“Same here Evi. Wait a minute, maybe I can come with you! I can help you with dressing and bathing and stuff, and your master won’t have to have to abuse just you all the time!” Kejehara said, wiping tears from his face.
“Oh Keji, that would be great
but…what about Brayden?” Evania asked.
Kejehara gasped softly. For a
moment, he had actually forgotten about Brayden, even after all that he said
about him just a short while ago. “Well…I’d miss him a lot but, I have to face
the fact that we’ll never be more than friends.”
“I suppose I could ask our
masters about it. The thing I’m worried about though is that my new master
would have to pay more money for you which…I don’t know if he’d be willing to
do.” Evania said.
“We could still try,” Kejehara
said, hopefully.
They packed up Evania’s few
possessions and made their way downstairs. When they got downstairs, Evania got
up his courage asked the head breeder about Kejehara’s suggestion.
“Master, may I make a request?”
He asked.
“Depends on what it is,” the breeder responded.
“Depends on what it is,” the breeder responded.
“Would it be possible if Kejehara
came with me?”
He chuckled and replied, “Kejehara? Go with you? Tell me you’re joking!”
He chuckled and replied, “Kejehara? Go with you? Tell me you’re joking!”
“Um…no sir, I’m not. I was
thinking that maybe he could help me with dressing and bathing and stuff, and
also, my master would have two Bastits to have fun with instead of just one.”
Evania said.
The breeder laughed again. “Your
new master may have paid a lot, but that’s still not enough to cover the cost
of both of you. He paid for one Bastit…this Bastit,” he pointed to Evania. “Besides, he’s never even seen
Kejehara.”
“But he could see me right n-”
Kejehara tried to say.
“No!” The breeder barked. “It’s out of the question. Evania you’re going, Kejehara you’re staying. That’s final!”
Evania turned to Kejehara, who
had a tear streaming down his face. “I’m sorry Keji.”
“It’s ok. It was worth a try,”
Kejehara said, his voice breaking again.
Evania hugged Kejehara tightly.
“I love you Keji, you’ve always been a brother to me,” he said. He had begun
crying once again.
“I love you too Evi,” Kejehara replied.
“I love you too Evi,” Kejehara replied.
“Ok love birds, I got a buyer
waiting, let’s move it along,” the head breeder said, becoming impatient.
“I still don’t think you should
give up hope with Brayden,” Evania said.
“Ok. For you…I won’t give up hope. I promise.” Kejehara said. “Good bye Evi.”
“Ok. For you…I won’t give up hope. I promise.” Kejehara said. “Good bye Evi.”
“Good bye, Keji.”
Slowly, they backed away from
each other until only their outstretched hands were clasped. Then, even their
hands broke contact and the vehicle driver and head breeder pulled Evania out
the front door, leaving Kejehara standing in the lobby by himself. He remained
there a few moments unable to move. When he got back to his room, it didn’t
feel like his room anymore. It felt cold and empty. He could hear echoes of all
the laughs he and Evania had shared. He didn’t want to be in that room anymore.
He didn’t want to be anywhere in the Bastit house. He hoped that Brayden would
call so he could escape from the house, even if only temporarily, but no call
came. Kejehara was trapped. He fell onto his bed and sobbed into his pillow. He
felt so alone.
* * *
At nightfall, Kejehara was still
in his room. He hadn’t moved from his bed all day. Although being in there and
seeing Evania’s empty bed filled him with sadness, he still didn’t want other
Bastits to see him the way he was and have to explain multiple times what
happened. He wasn’t all too close with other Bastits, but he knew many by name.
It didn’t really matter where he went though, he still wouldn’t be able to get
his mind off Evania. He was about to try and get some sleep when, there was a
knock at the door.
“Oh no,” Kejehara groaned to
himself, “Not another job, not now!” He got up from his bed and tried to fix
himself up as much as he could.
“Kejehara, don’t make me come in there myself,” came the familiar New York accented voice Kejehara knew.
“Kejehara, don’t make me come in there myself,” came the familiar New York accented voice Kejehara knew.
He opened the door expecting to
be given a job and told to ‘be downstairs in 10’, but instead, he saw the
breeder standing there with another younger looking Bastit who also looked very
timid and nervous.
“Kejehara, meet your new
roommate, Rosette. Congratulations, now you don’t have to be lonely anymore. I’m
sure you two will become friends eventually,” the breeder said. He pushed
Rosette and his suit case into the room, closed the door and left.
Rosette stood in the room looking
at the ground. He stood with his hands clasped tightly in front of him. He had
long light pink hair and ears and a long white tail. “Um…I-I heard about your
friend. I’m really sorry,” he said quietly after a moment. He was still staring
at the ground, avoiding looking at Kejehara out of nervousness.
“It’s ok. So…your name is
Rosette?” Kejehara asked.
“Yes,” Rosette replied, still in
a quiet voice.
“I’m Kejehara”
“I-I know, the breeder told me.
That’s a nice name,” Rosette replied, a bit louder this time.
“Oh….right. Sorry, I’m a little
uhh…” Kejehara trailed off.
“It’s ok. You look tired
Kejehara,” Rosette said, finally looking up at him.
“I am. I was actually about to
try to sleep,” Kejehara responded.
“Oh…o-ok. I won’t bother you.
Good night Kejehara.” Rosette said.
“Good night.”
“Good night.”
